About Us

Fundamental Foundations Counseling Center provides concierge-style counseling services for individuals, couples, and families in Little Elm, Texas, and through secure online sessions across Texas. Our clinicians help clients navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma recovery, grief, and major life transitions, offering thoughtful, structured support to restore clarity, stability, and confidence.

The practice was founded by Shahidrah Cowgill, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, a trauma psychotherapist with more than 18 years of clinical experience. Dr. Cowgill specializes in helping high-functioning adults address complex trauma, antagonistic or high-conflict relationships, and chronic nervous system dysregulation that can contribute to persistent stress and relational difficulties.

In addition to traditional counseling services, Dr. Cowgill offers advanced trauma treatment using EMDR therapy and private trauma intensives. Her work integrates trauma research, nervous system regulation, and moral resilience to help clients move forward with greater emotional stability, healthier boundaries, and renewed personal direction.
